For the money go with a DART block. You won't have to invest as much in the block as you would a Ford Racing block. The Ford Racing block needs alot of machine work that the DART doesn't need.

Exactly. And you may wish to check with DSS or CHP for an assembled short block since it's tough to get the machine work done and buy parts/assemble yourself for what they can ship an assembled block to you for.

Yo can buy the crate motor but, remember they use the least expensive stuff they have. Most of the pistons in the kits they sell won't take alot of nitrous. They don't move the ring package down and the forging isn't as good. You can spray 200 to it with a safe tune with most of them but, why not build it to take more. On the SVO blocks, you have to have the lifter bores finished, the main journals cleaned up, the cylinders have to be bored usually. They say they are standard but, they sometime they won't even clean up at .030.The darts have all this machine work done before you get it. All you do is bore the block.

with H beam rods you have to do a little grinding
with I beam rods, everything goes together without any special grinding on the block
but i recomend H beams for what your gonna do
and an after market block!!
i would build it myself, because you save money and know whats in it, and how it is put together
spray away lol

Definitely stick with the Dart block.
