hey everybody i just wanted to say hello i am new here wanted to make a post i am in the process of a 351 conversion in a 93 all is going ok so far i was wondering if anybody with a 351 could tell me if i will feel a big difference in hp over the stock 302 i put 12 to 1 forged pistons i am not positive about the cam specs they are like 236 duration and 472 lift on both sides or something like the i have a aod with a 2400 stall and gt40p heads dont know what size carb to go with either thanks everyone

12 to 1 is too high, you will have to run race gas to get any kind of timing in there.
10 to 1 would be better if you can still change it and you can run advanced timing and pump gas.

timing makes more power than compression.

GT40P heads will also be very restrictive for that engine. You need some high flow aluminum heads, AFR 185, Canfield 190's, TwistedWedge

go with a 700-750 carb for a 351W.

Yes you will see big difference from 302, but with better heads and cam you would see an INSANELY HUGE difference.

thanks yeah i want the 185 afr's i just have to save my money i sold a 83 with a 302 and a 100 shot on the car that ran 11:70's i was just wondering what this set up might run i have a 55 gal drum of 110 cam 2 i am only running at the track and maybe drive back and forth i have a good msd i plan on purchasing so i can adjust timing in the car

out of those u listed are any smog legal? i dont wanna hijack the thread.. but what about the victor head they have 70cc chambers so it might bring his comp ratio down a tad instead of a 60cc chamber. thats if he cant change the pistons to a lower compression
