I just did a 408 and required NO block mods! have only 25 to 50 miles on it and am only breaking it in now. however, with the old 600 cfm edelbrock carb at 3/4 throttle it will roast the tires at any point through 3rd gear. I am not yet brave/crazy enough to hammer it in 4th!

I understand the 427 is not going to produce much more in hp and may compromise some of the geometry/strength issues. for a 'toy', like what i have, i think you will be very happy. i did go with edelbrock performer heads, roller cam, roller rockers, mod cam and it is very easy to drive and comes to life like a freight train at around 3000.

I would defer to others who have done the 427 kit, but have zero regrets.

i can get you more specs if you want. i have not tried to tune it or dyno yet.

i've been very blessed and find this car as a worth while distraction to my work life. hopefully one of my 3 kids will likewise enjoy it and not get killed driving it !!! maybe by that time i'll drop in a 6 cylinder!
