I called Vortech on this and they were very helpful
gave me the number of a company in Michigan that has a jig
set-up to modify the Vortech 5.0 bracket so that it
lowers the s/c back down for hood clearance on a 351W install

company in michigan says they do them in batches, so
depending on when you send it to them and when they
have next batch scheduled to modify it can take 2-8 weeks
to get it back and cost was $225-250 if I remember right
