Default spotted 351 + some ?'s

I went to the junk yard today looking for a 351w and found some. the ? is, is it a good idea to use a 351 from a 1979 ltd? any chance that this motor could be winstor? I reallly don't care going carb, but do all of u knowledgeable guys recommend this specific motor as a good project for a starter/noob?
here's a pic I took from my phone.

wow that thing looks beat up, i am using a 351w engine from 1972, the years dont really matter unless you want a roller. but if u have never rebuilt a engine before i would really recomend taking that one...but its up to you.

it appears to be a windsor, hard to tell from the pic, but i dont think ford used clevelands passed 74 or 75

it would be a good first engine to rebuild if you have never built an old school pushrod motor, that or a 302 would be easiest

that pic is a 351 modified
unless you have a boat, and need an anchor, dont buy it
your best bet is to find a roller block 351w, i think you will have a better choice in camshafts to choose from. but if you cant find a roller block, you can use a flat tappet block.
its all in what you put in it, and match everything up right,, camshaft, carb, gears. etc..
but i think that is a 351 m motor.

Go fer it. I'm using a 78 351w with $3500 in machinework ( previous owner did it) in my 91 lx vert.
The guy had it in a 66 fairlaine 4 door. 450hp, track proven...but.... after 600 miles the car burnt to the ground, so I got the deal of the year for the motor, and a original 69 mach 1 aluminum intake for $200.
When he first took it to the track, it twisted so hard the back doors popped open. I can't wait till its ready to abuse camaros and hondas in town!!!!

nevermind the 351 m wasnt made in the ltd. so its a 351w. go for it. the older they are the more power the block can handle. a roller conversion can always be done if u need it and from what i hear it aint that hard.
