rotating assembly
I am trying to get the rotating assembly for my 393 project. I already have a set of afr 185 heads and pretty much everything else. Just need the crank/rods/pistons. I figure I want to stay at or below 10:1
I saw a scat kit with an srp dish piston that does 10.8:1 (#1-94260)
Will this ratio be to high for a street car that I need to be able to run on 91 octane (highest available here)?
I calculated that I need a piston vol of 14cc to keep me below 10-1
I may have to say screw it and put a 408 kit in it. Seems to have better comp ratios available (10.1:1 forged kit)
Any ideas?

RE: rotating assembly
You need to check that again. The 1-94260 is rated 10.8:1 with a 64cc head. You should have a 58cc or 61cc. There will also be a huge difference in price between the cast crank 393 kit and the forged crank 408 kit. Is compression your biggest limiting factor? Tell me what head your working with, and I'll see what I can do. For example, I'd sell the 1-94260 for $999. What did you find it for?

RE: rotating assembly
whoops. i must have accidently put 64 instead of 61, that'll mess up my numbers. Long day. All im looking for is cast crank/forged piston 393 kit. I have a set of afr 185 w/ 61 chambers. Im trying to keep the CR to a level where I can safely use 91 octane. Ive always figured that anything above about 10.5 or so is getting into problems (also depends on other stuff too). The problem that I have is that Im in Canada so the prices seem a little higher here, might be able to make a deal if shipping wont kill me. 2 prices I got are $1712 (us) forged & $1138 (us)cast.
