This a good trans for a 550horse 510 tq 408 stroker? i plan on supercharging later down the road.

Yes that trans will work fine, they are rated 600 Ft/lbs of torque. The Pro-5.0 is popular, The MGW is another one, and I have heard great feedback about the line that UPR sell's also. Also with that kind of H/P you may look into some of the more modified clutch/pressure plate systems out there. P/M me if you need any help with that, I am a career 408ci guy

 

you will have problems going into gear at high rpms
unless you have it pro shifted

 

hmmmm, I dont have any high rpm shift probs and it shift's fine with stock TKO shifter it came out of the box with.
might not be the quickest short throw out there, but works fine

 

I have the TKO 600 with stock shifter. I hear of a lot of people complaining about high rpm shift. I shift around 6600 and have never had a problem. It has to be something with the install if having hard time shifting.

i may be selling a full tko setup here shortly. it's a 1 yr old tko 600, spec stage 3 clutch, sfi bellhousing and aluminum driveshaft.
