Hey guys, I just put a 351 in my jeep wrangler and was hoping you experts could help me with a quick question.

I put headers on the engine so i took all the EGR stuff off, Now I am wiring it and wondering what goes along with it, Do I need the Purge Canister Solenoid? Also I have wiring here for the Air bypass and air divert but cant find it, was that part of the EGR stuff I took off?

I take it you're using a mustang 5.0 wire harness for EFI?

The purge canister solenoid sounds like the connection to canister
that helps trap fumes from the gas tank vent. If so, no you dont need that.

Not sure what the Air bypass or air divert is.
The smog/air pump is not hooked into the wire harness anywhere just the Vac system

The EGR has one connection plug only, then a plug for Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and one for TPS

 

Yes I am wiring it like a 5.0L EFI

The only wires I have left to run are:
Canister Purge Soleniod - Which I don't have the right connector on the end of my wiring, I need a short harness from a stock mustang to complete it, thats why I am hoping I don't need it. Its the conection that is between rubber tubing by the trottle body.

Then it says Air Divert Solenoid and Air Bypass Solenoid. I have never heard of these, nor do I know where they are, so I am hoping to leave these off also.

And last question.... I don't have any vacumm hoses on this engine right now (they were all dry rotted and cracked). Do you guys know what I will need if any?? Again NO Emmisions. Do I need any vacumm just to make it run?
