google or yahoo "mustang" mike modeste. and as for mei have 408 stroker with forged internals, heads, and cam, slicks and 300 shot, as for my buddy he also has a 408 stroker, forged internals, 300 shot, but, this is where he goes out of my leagues...blower@25psi, built racing tranny, built rear, no interior, slicks, race fuel(112), heads, cam,and a huge carb. thats it im done.

jd hopefully that satisfies you cause i know you have your real world experience and all but so do i so im ending it here and im not gonna argue two different points of view anymore. maybe one day i can meet you on PINKS considering i know you've been there.

I have never been on Pinks, that's Tony he owns the shop, I work there. I am not trying to be a dick, but look at form my side. A guy comes in am claims a 7 second car, that'sa pretty bold statement and if you had any idea of the numbers of BS'ers that we get here you would see what I am saying. No hard feelings man.

oh well maybe in a few years we can make a goat it and then you can get your time to shine on pinks. yeah i know it seems a lil crazy with the numbers but that wht we have run. we keep to ourselves but just wanted to put my two words in on thisposting and im not trying to attack your LS1 or anything so i guess i should also apologize and say that i got a lil defensive and went on the attack a lil bit. it was definitely a good debate my new friend. but trust me check out "Mustang" Mike Modeste with his 289 procharged hatchback.

Unless that show gets a new host I have no desire to ever be on it. There is no way I would ever help Rich, make any money, besides my car is nowhere near fast enough for that show.

first thing you need to think about is what do you plan on doing with the motor.a good street motor make it's torque down low where it is really needed.you can make 400f/w hp with a .30 bore 10.5 cr and gt40 p heads.and a good cam as far as intake, unless you plan on running high rpm's(bad for long life) i would stay away from single plain intakes.

I just got a really really nice 88 notch with a 302 and everything in my sig for $1000 so I see that but in my opinion you really need to put that money elsewhere other than the motor.

Upgrade your brakes because fox body stock brakes really suck. Or upgrade the suspension on the car, going fast at a drag strip is great but if it is going to be a street car then making the car more controlable is never a bad thing. If you are hell bound on spending money on the engine though you can get a set of Patriot sbf heads for around $975 shipped from Jegs. With a cam matched to your heads and intake/carb set up you would be atleast mid 300's I would think. As far as out running a C5+ vette a bone stock one yes maybe but every bolt on they get honestly opens them up. Hell there are a good number of C5's with cam/valve terrain upgrades and a set of gears running deep into the 11's.

You can also think about spray, that $1000 would get you a decent setup.
