351w roller ?
hey guys, i have a chance to get a 351w from a truck for $150. the motor has a knock to it, but it turns over freely. my question is, is this motor a roller design? the truck is a f250 and i think its a 1993. the sticker on the drivers side door said the production date was 5/93.. i did some searching and it seems the magic year is 1994. so can someone help me out? thanks chad

RE: 351w roller ?
Serial number will start with F4 for a 1994
and will have the holes in center valley to screw down lifter hold-down spider
you can still use that block with a roller cam you just have to use
the expensive ($400+) conversion lifters

RE: 351w roller ?
do what r.barn says and check for the F4 # and please confirm if its true that 92-93 blocks were roller ready, let us know what the valley looks like.....either way 150 is a good deal

RE: 351w roller ?
well weak or not, it doesnt really matter. im not looking for high horsepower numbers. i would like about 350hp with equal torque. i want a strong reliable motor for the street. i dont drag race my car. just want a quick street car. i would rebuild a 302 if i could find one, but a buddy found this one for me, so i thought i would go with it. thanks for the help guys
