351W in 97 6 cylinder chassis
Well i aquired a 1997 mustang 6 clyinder through some trades, the catch is the motor had a blown headgasket. I would like to swap the 6 cylinder for a 351W that i have laying around. The car will be carbuerated and be a 5 speed. Please dont flame me about making this car carbed i dont care it is not a daily driver its just a car to have fun in. Is there any sites where they have already done this swap? Motor mounts? What tranny? T5? will it fit under the hood? anything else you can think of? thanks alot

basically you have to set it up as if you were going to drop a 5.0 into it, which means you need a new k-member, a 351 will fit under the hood but with some work, but with a carb it may even be easier. a T5 sure you can do that, but why not upgrade while you're at it, t5's arent really that strong

and im going to flame you anyways for wanting to go carb, fuel injection will keep your car legal

You can use your existing K-member. Remember when going carb you will need a new fuel pump, regulator, and new pick-up. You can convert it to efi pretty easily. To save money find a wrecked 94-95 GT.
