5.0 info
im just wondering because im already begining to plan my new engine for my stang and i was wondering about how far you can push a stock block? like hp, rpm's, boost, nitrous and does a main support system work that well?
A stock 302 block...I would not exceed 500hp, main girdle or not. A Windsor with a girdle I have seen 750+. The later roller blocks tend to be a bit shy on the castings but still a stronger block compared to the 2blt main 302's. Retro blocks (pre-roller) are thicker in the webbing and a little stronger. But main cap walking is eventually what leads to cracking.
Yes i believe all 351's were 2 bolt. RPM's depend on engine, like cam and heads. I turn mine to 6800 but i have ported trick flows and the cam is 588/622 lift with duration at .050 being 246/259.
351 .030 over,a little over 11:1 compression,DRP Pistons,Forged I-beam rods,Custom grind-588/622 lift, duration @.050 is 246/259,Stage 2 ported Trick Flows, 1.7TF roller Rockers,Holley HP 750, Victor JR, MSD dig 6 plus,DSS main support,SFI balancer,13/4 long tubes,3in x-pipe, 2 fuel systems-Magna Fuel and Holley,31 spline moser axles,MAC rear end girdle,connectors,adjustable uppers and lowers,air bag with drag springs,90/10 lakewood struts,moser spool,TKO 600,Spec stg 3 clutch,SFI Spec steel billet flywheel,Autometer oil,water,fuel pressure,fuel guage,nitrous pressure guages,man. brakes,line-loc and a bunch of other stuff that i dont feel like having to remember.
