engine combo help roller 351
So i have a 89 notch that im planning on doing a 351w swap to
I know im going to go carb because the main harness is missing out of the car (its a roller project)
i plan on putting a c4 behind it
but i have a roller 351w that i plan on either keeping it a 351 or just going 357
The plan:
get the stock crank turned if needed
forged I beam rods or forged stock replacement
forged pistons (aiming for 9.5 or 10:1 compression)
as far as that im not sure what i should do for h/c/i
i was looking at the 200cc RSH cast iron heads other that that i dont know what i should do?
let me know what you guys think

RE: engine combo help roller 351
For your combo I would just keep the stock rods. The I beams don't offer much more. I have never broke a rod. I have bent one before. I have also ben I beams. I wouldn't use iron heads. I would invest in either a set of GT40 Z heads or a nice trick flow. 10 to 1 compression would be great for the street.

ya for a street car the upgraded rods shouldnt be nessicary, ya trick flow heads will perform well, or you can get a set of top line heads fairly cheap these days, for cams just look for the descriptions, your gonna want a powerband to approx 6500 RPM im assuming, with fair idle qualitys, id stick with 230 duration or less, and without flycut pistons might wanna watch the lift too
