New to 351w's, swap parts list
So I found a complete 351w with all acc. and whatever else I want (I have to pull it, its in a truck) for $125
Im working on putting together a parts list on what ill need to get, its going into a Fox,
so far I have the ford racing oil pan
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?a
and the ford racing intake here (the engine is FI right now)
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?par
other than that im going to see if theres a carb at the shop I work at (we have a shipping container full of stuff, theres a shelf of carbs)
and Im going to try to use the stock exhaust manifolds
should that about be it?
im not sure yet if im going to use a T5 or a C4 (?), and the car is going to be caged before its driven
edit: I bought last fall a new distributor for the 302 I was building, will it work or will I need to get a new one for a 351w or go to the scrapyard and take a look for one?

RE: New to 351w's, swap parts list
I dd read the sticky, can I not use the headers and just use a few inches of the y pipe off of the truck then make my own exhaust , or is it really too high up that it wont go under?

i would just say spend the money and get some bbk shorties i think they are under 300 for the crome ones and you will run into alot less troubles because the 351 swap headers are designed to match up with stock/aftermarket h/x pipes same thing goes for long tubes the work with the normal long tube h pipe
