To make 1000 rwhp+:
Motor figure ...$18K atleast. Dart block. If this isn't an outlaw 10.5 car with unlimited funds do not max the bore out. For tried and true performance go with a set of TFS high ports from Bennett. I had them on my car and put 1200 to the wheels. They can grind you a camshaft to match. You are pretty much limited to running a solid roller when you get to this hp range. We made justshy of 860 rwhp with a hyd roller. For the rotating assembly you probably won't use off the shelf parts. Oliver rods, scat or bryant crankshaft, and a custom pistons. Off the shelf pistons are really good for this type application. I use either diamond, CP, or Venolia. As for the intake the you'll probably need to go with a victor efi spyder.
Fuel system: Weldon pumps and regulators $3000
Electronics: FAST dfi or BIG stuff $5000 for everything to support it and the ecu.
Trans : powerglide. $2500 plus $800 for a convertor. If you plan on dragracing stay away from a c-6. They get a little violent the first 90ft.
rear end: 8.8 car be built to take the abuse if the car isn't too heavy. Under 3200 lbs and your good. $1200 in the rear end.

AEM plug-n-play comupter will also handle it for a fraction of the cost of those stand-alones.
LOVE mine.

Guy on the Corral with this same build - TT 427W Dart motor making 1,200rwhp
runs the AEM also without issue. Great computer for the money when compared against the true stand alone boxes.
