Default a Little Help Please!

I am having a little problem with detonation and am looking for ways to solve the problem. I have a recently built 351w .060 with 70 heads. Comp 280h (.512/.512 230 duration) cam and performer rpm intake and edelbrock perfromer 600 carb. The builder said it was 10.5 to 1 compression with KB hyper's which is really close with the heads. He milled the heads .010 and put stainless valves and increased the exhaust to 1.60. I have a stock dizzy with electronic upgrade. I ran a few tanks of 91 without pushing it and played with timing but still detonated. I mixed 5 gallons 110 with the 91 and it runs good but still needs some tuning. My concerns are with the timing and what are the opinions on the carb. I am thinking the carb is a weak spot. Am I destined for race gas mix or can I get this thing running good on 91.

I am running an crane cams xr-700 electronic conversion with stock distributor. It says in the fine print not to run the performer 600 carb with the performer rpm intake so I didn't know if it made a big difference or not. Any suggestions appreciated..
