351w As a Daily Driver?
So I am looking at purchasing an 1987 mustang gt with a 351w engine swap in it. I will use it as a daily driver and prob rarely take it to the track. How do yall think that it would perform as an every day car for me?
Thanks,
Here is a link to the car btw: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/914919400.html

couple things for daily driving that I would be hesitant of
It has 4.56 gears you will make lots of RPMs with these behind that T-5 5 speed tranny and the tires would wear out pertty quick if your daily driving it especially with the spool locking your rear wheels together. I wouldn't beat on it to hard with that T-5 behind the 351w either but if ya take it releitivly easy you shouldn't have any problems with the trans.
Other then that your not gonna make any worse mileage then a person that drives a full sized pickup truck but don't think your gonna get 15 mpg with it especially with 4.56s in the back.
I say if its gonna make you happy to have a rip *** car as a daily driver go for it.

Ok thanks for the good info. I would prob end up changing the gears to somewhere under 4.10s maybe 3.90 or so, that would really help the mpg and make it much more daily driver friendly.
How does that sound, also is there anything else that I should be weary off?

I run a 351 in my daily driver with 4.30 gears/spool and 5 spd. It runs about 2200 rpm out on the highway at 60 to 65 MPH with 295/50/15 tires. I wish I had 4.56 gears. My car would like it better. Plus if it was geared to heavy I would just jump to a 275/60/15 to pull my RPM back down because that tire is taller than what I run now.
