Default Stock 302 Headers

Now I thought if I got the convertible mounts the stock headers would work? Or do I need the 351w swap headers?

You need the 351W headers
I tried the exact same thing on mine and couldn't get them to fit without a lot of modifying with a hammer.

I was trying to use aftermarket 302 shorty headers.
good luck you will love the extra torque.

I have thought about trying with my h-pipe, it is a 3 piece so it allows for more adjustability so maybe........ just buy some headers. hassle free and theyre performance you can feel.

The reason you can't use 302 headers is bc the block is wider than a 302 so the collectors need to be angled in toward the motor more to clear things on the way down.

i used shorty headers on my swap and used solid motor mounts. had to have the flanges on the h-pipe rebent to fit the headers. other than that. no real problems. just a little manipulation

I am seriously thinking about dropping in a 351 arter I get back from Iraq. Depends if my budget on my other items will allow it.

I got my 90 convertable mounts for O'Riellys and some BBK Ceramic coated swap shorties. I'm working on the swap right now. Transmission needs rebuilt so.. Thats what I'm waiting on right now! Thanks!
