289 heads on a 351?
hey another newbie question but i am considering a 351. I am currently running a 302 w/ '66 289 heads....but what i am asking is will those heads pull enough air for that 351 w/ a decent cam in the range of about .550 lift and a intake like an edelbrock rpm air gap. thanks guys

ok, so scratch that idea. So what are some other factory heads that are "ok" to run b/c i dont exactly have the funds to go all out, i am simply lookin for the extra cubes. Maybe some TQ and HP from the 351. Is running a dome piston a decent idea to get some compression out of those wimpy heads, a decent cam and intake maybe?

This is my opinion based on my own experiences...
You already have 289 heads, and aftermarket heads aren't in the budget. A 351w can quickly outgrow gt40's....
If it were me, I would bolt on the 289 heads and run them. I wouldn't spend any money on heads that would still hold the 351w back, even if they were better than the 289 heads. I would save that money for a good aftermarket aluminum head.
Again, just my opinion...
