Default New to 351w's

Het guys.I;m new to the 351w sceen.I used to have an 1986 GT.I just got an 1984 GT with a 351w and C4 tranny.I have a couple Q's.The tranny mount is screwed what kind sould i get.Do they make a swap mount for the C4 tranny?Same with motor mounts but i hear the convertable ones are stronger.Is that true?Also the shift linkage is no good i have to pull a cable to put it park.What vechiles would i beable to get it from.Any help would be great.Thanx

if your going to replace the motor and tranny mounts they sell sets of poly ones that are pretty tough and will last for a relitively good price on summit.

that must be an aftermarket shifter if it has a cable my 88 had a metal rod that ran from the trans arm to the base of the shifter. if it is an aftermarket see if you can figure out the manufactuer and try to call em maybe they can shed some light on your problem, good luck

You should check the adjustment down on the trans itself. They are very touchy to get them in all gears easily and smoothly. You can get a shift linkage from pretty much any 4 eyed stang that had a auto 3 speed. They will either be a c4 or c5 which is the exact same thing pretty much.

As for the engine mounts. People say use vert mounts because they allow the motor to set lower in the engine bay. Poly mounts use the vert design so that is the way to go.
