If you stick with a 408, the rod angles are not great enough to make a real differance. More stroke than that (like a 427), and the rod angles become great enough to cause some increased wear. Not a lot, but some.

first of all how much cash you got for this build? this could become a factor in your choice.. I would go n/a 408w... just plain and simple, also i hear KB's tend to heat up? You could get into some big money going KB, My choice 408 NA .. money for money 408 wins vs a blown motor and power for power.. I cant see a 351w kb pulling a 408w if both motors are street motors. But if your just going for that whistle sound you might wanna get a stock 302 and just stick a BBK thottle body on it ... good luck..

why not 408w with a efi plate system you got your mpg and your button for power

More cubes can always make more power. There's no replacement for displacement. You can't beat cubes.

Isn't that the truth! A blower can displace 30-50% more air than NA.

Exactly my dilemma. I figured i would get better mpg's when just driving normal, and would get good power out of a KB 351, but more cubs is very very tempting.

My goal is the range of 500rwhp at around 10:1 or 10.5 compression (93 octane). I figure that, in a light little fox, with a 5 or 6 speed and good suspension (plan is: MM lower control arms, panhard bar and torque arm and the front may be coil over or just upgraded. Havent decide if i want to do a new K-member)

Or you could do both.
