Default Building a 408ci

Well ive decided im tired of wasting my money on a 302 base motor and its time to go with a few more ci, i picked up my block for 125$ its a 74 block and picked up my stroker kit for 750$ now i got a few questions im stuck with my d00e heads for now but they have been ported and had bowl work done....now i know these heads are going to hold me back for now but what would be a good cam and intake choice to run

The problem is that the heads will really choke the engine. If you put a good free flowing intake and a decent cam in there, it will run fairly poorly. It will run, but you'll be disappointed. Heads, cam, and intake have to work together as a package.

With those thoughts in mind, I see two possible choices. First, use the stock worked over heads. Use a mild torque cam, and an intake like a Edelbrock Performer. When you get money to upgrade heads, then you'll want to upgrade intake and cam at the same time.

Second wait until you have the right heads, then use cam and intake to match.

Don't be afraid to bargain shop for used parts. Nothing wrong with them if you choose carefully. They'll be used a week after you install them anyway.
