Default 408w Build

So I am going to be putting a 408w in a 1995 gt, but I don't know what is the best route to take with the building of the engine. Here are some of the planned parts for the car:

-408w short block http://www.cnc-motorsports.com/produ...30&CtgID=22988
-AFR 225 heads
-Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake (carb set-up)

This car will primarily be a drag race car that will see little street use. What would be a good cam to use with this set up, and what would be a good carb for this car? I plan to use a C4 transmission, but I don't know where to find a good built C4, is there anyone you would recommend for that? And last on the list for questions I can think of at the moment, what size of a fuel pump would this engine require? I know the car has a fuel pump that is upgraded from stock, but I am not sure on the size exactly(I have to check with the previous owner)? Thanks.

custom ground cam, 255lph pump would do the trick, as for the carb, no clue!

408 Cubes will need way more intake than that. I did a 393 pump gas street car with a Super Victor and long tube Hooker Super Comps(2 inch primary and 3.5 inch collector)

That 408 is going to need the propper things to let the cubes breath and to compliment those heads. Why put a wicked athelete in the car that can run like the wind but make him breath through a straw(small intake and headers)???? Card?? 950 at least.

When doing the fuel pump get rid of the stock style pump and install an inline Holley Blue pump. You can buy a pickup to install in place of the pump

Ok, so I will go with the Edelbrock Super Victor intake instead of the Performer RPM. What would the compression ratio be if I used the 58cc combustion chamber heads? The short block is said to have a 10.1 compression ratio with 64cc combustion chambers. Thanks for the help so far guys.

dont bother with that shortblock

http://www.fordstrokers.com/fordstro...hortblock.html

if you want it done for you

http://www.fordstrokers.com/diy-libe...rt-blocks.html

if you want to be a man and do it yourself (you know you want to...)

AFR 225 heads are a little much i think... thats a SERIOUS head

http://foxlakeracing.com/twisted.php

for the price of the AFR's you can get these heads, mill them down to 55cc chambers for roughly 10.8-11:1 compression, and these heads will RUN AWAY from the AFR's and NOT affect header fitment, not have shrouded intake valves, etc.

cap it off with their vic jr intake, bolt on a Barry Grant 825-850 Mighty Demon carb, call Jay Allen for a nasty solid roller, and HANG ON...

i dont believe the super vic has a rear coolant crossover (might be wrong) but thats not the best for street use. the vic jr does, and the ported version will be worlds better than the super vic anyways.

as for auto's...

and there you go.

go buy it all. right now. whip out the credit card, and get it over with...

and then send it my way because thats the EXACT same build up im doing except im running a TKO600 and still keeping it a street car (more of a REALLY badass weekend warrior/street racer with some driving to work (the whole 3 miles lol) thrown in the mix).

good luck and let me know how it goes
