Default Need a little help here guys.

I have a 1988 mustang coupe "roller" its been completely stripped of all wiring harnesses. My question is i got a 351w im'going to put in and its injected.

Now i have a complete wiring harness minus the body harness.

Do i need to use the body harness. I'm not going to use stock gauges all after market. Was just curious if i need the body harness or could i just supply the ecm power and go from there.

Hope someone can chime in and give me some tips.

What harness do you have? what is out of? why not just get a Mustang harness for it? to make things a bit more easy

I have an a9L computer and have the ecm harness, injector harness, also ignition if thats a seperate harness. Harness is from a 1990 mustang 5spd if that matters which i don't think it does.
I just don't got that body harness that goes to the gauges and fuse block. But i don't need my gauges nor the fuse block. I'm wondering if i can just power up the ecm myself with a power wire.
You meantioned mustang harness? where can u get

If your using automatic (aod or aode) (c4 and c6 exempt) then you have to have a auto harness a 5 spd i believe you can just use the engine bay harness if you have the entire bay harness! It supplys power to the ecm and then it branches off under the dash to the fuse box and to the transmission! i have never done a stripped car i avoid them!

the simplest thing i can think of is a painless wiring kit!

Hmmmm i c. As for the transmission i am going auto. I have a c5 from a 82 f100 i'm going to use. With c4 internals of course. So by using the c5 i wouldn't need an auto harness i'll just wire up my own neutral safety through the shifter some have them i believe.

I'll go take a look at painless wiring harness as well.
