Hey guys and gals,
Ok I have owned this mustang for about 10 years. Bought from a scrap yard as 3.8L automatic w/ smashed front end..

Long story short for the minuscule total amount I have into this car you could never buy another so this is my reasoning for my actions. The stang now has a 351w w/ edelbrock heads/ cam/ NA. Through lack of funding I was able to reuse alot of parts from the 3.8 setup including the trans. This by no means is or was used as a race car but definitely fun to drive with the new power. However after a few years of driving with the automatic I am getting bored of it.

I have connections with many scrap yards and figured now is as good a time as any to swap trans to a 5 speed. My question comes down to what model 5 speeds came in what year cars? And of those which will be the better option to go with from a donor car? Of these trans which ones have kits to bring them up to a higher torque rating? For now I dont mind putting it in stock as I will not be racing it but just used to cruz around but I am curious for future modifications.

If it comes out of a 94-98 I would assume I can get/ use the crossmember to mount?
