put aside about $9000-$11000 before you get started, because thats about how much you are going to spend before its complete.

i want it to be streetable, not a dd but something i can get out on the weekends and tear up the streets.

the only thing i have is a mustang lol. this is just something i have been thinking about for a little while. was goint to get a scat rotating assy from summit all forged for about 2k and can get a complete block for a good price as well.

Unless your getting a shortblock from a company new then be weary of person to person sales!

Do you want EFI or carb, that will be the price differance!

You can build a very reliable and powerful 408 for a decent price, then engine alone wont cost you much it`ll be supporting mods.

I just done one for my uncle actually its a 410, but he has nothing more than 4000$ complete! but it is a carbed engine for a 68 coupe!

He used the scat kit, bought new aluminum heads and carb cam and intake!

ill probably go carbed for price reasons, what setup did he run heads, cam, and carb. i have a 750 holley on my 308 tt right now. i was probably going to put my turbo's on it as well.

The 750 will be too small!, He bought some heads from cgn i believe the company is there basically a set of vic jrs for half the price, used and rpm airgap, and i forget the flat tappet cam he used, with a 850cfm carb, its a 68 pleasure ride for his wife lmfao!

You could prolly rejet and use the 750 idk!
He went .040 over cause the cylinders were pitted from rust!
