Default 3.73 install tomorrow!!

So tomorrow I will have 3.73 gears in my 95. I'm pretty excited...I don't think I'm gonna sleep at all tonight. I only went with 3.73s because I already have 4.10s in my 03 and didn't want the same gears in two different cars. Can't wait to feel how she drives after I pick it up. Weird thing is that I don't know why I'm soo excited about this...

Haha, well as it turns out the car already had 3.73 gears in it. Ah thats what I get for not checking...wasted about $500 for the gears, install kit, and labor...yikes. Anyway at least I now have Richmond's and I know everything is brand new.

that makes no sense, why the crap would a shop go ahead and do that?? I would have advised the customer of the situation before going any further......in fact I ran into the same situation a few months ago, the guy already had 3.73's and I was prepared to install them but upon pulling the cover off I saw that there were non stock shims in the carrier which were to loose and backing out so at that point I counted teeth and low and behold he had 3.73's so all we did was re-shim the carrier and away he went. Guess that shop wanted the dough either way.

mjr46...he did call me to let me know. But since I told him to go ahead and install them since everything I had was brand new...and since he already had given me the appointment and spent time getting the car ready for the install. I have no idea how long those other ones were on there and peace of mind is priceless...

500 dollars? Wow thats alot of money to spend for something you already have man. What do you think you can get out of your old 3.73's I hope you get some of your wasted cash back.

Yea trust me the thought stings...a LOT. But I figure everything is even-Steven...I've saved tons of money over the years that I've been modding. I've even gotten brand new items (aftermarket intake manifolds, aftermarket elbows, aftermarket MAF sensors, fuel injectors, etc...) for free on several different occasions. Things I've been able to sell and make money off of. And I got this particular car itself for a steal considering everything that's been done to it. So sometimes you have to give back and pay it forward. It was stupid of me not to check anyway but you win some and lose others...
