351M project
Hello everyone
Im looking to start a project - rebuilding a 351 Modefied and putting it in my '94 Mustang Gt.
(little info on the car and why the project)
I picked up the car from my grandfather back in 2002. He told me to drain the power steering fluid cause it was dirty but i didnt listen. Well in 2005 i was heading to work and the car died on the highway. I opened the hood and there was power steering fluid all over the place. Long story short the engine caught fire while i went to get my trailer. I since rebuilt the car (sentimental value to me) but hasnt been the same. (302 rebuilt but is a dog)
Now, for s##ts and giggles I want to put this Modefied in and convert the car to carb since the engine has a Edelbrock Power 400 intake and Holley 4bbl on top (unsure of size)
Im looking to still keep it street legal but on the same token would like to decimate all i can on the track.lol
If any of you have done or heard of someone doing this to this style Mustang - any words of wisedom and help would be appreciated. (was told the engine needs rebuild so also looking for opinions on cam, pistons, etc)
Thanks
T.J.

+1 you would have to run a big block tranny also, thats the M the bellhousing area is fitted to accept a bigblock tranny.
Other wise you have a 351, and not really a good foundation! Its a little wider than a clevland block and may cause you some fitment issues, it has a raised deck hieght also!

do the 400m crank swap, upgrade piston rings, and balance it. Other than that, basic long-block rebuild and you got a bruiser. Did that in my 78 Ranchero with ridiculous results!
