Default 351 foundation

I've got an 87 fox body with an351 in it. The mods in it are a holly 750 carb, edelbrock rpm intake, accel 8.8 plug wires, bbk shorty headers, dual flowmaster, lakewood drag shocks in rear, edelbrock valve covers and breather, msd blaster 2 coil, billet steel flywheel and powermaster mini starter. Is that a good starting point and what else shouldni look into?

Ditch the stock cylinder heads and get an aftermarket aluminum set. AFR, Trickflow, Edelbrock, etc. I'd grab an aluminum flywheel while you're at it.

Is it a stock displacement 351 or have you stroked it? And no there's nothing special to do w the heads. Stock displacement, i would look at something w a 185cc intake. Look into a cam upgrade before the flywheel btw

^^ what he said. That motor can be a ground pounder but not til you put some heads on it. Personally I'd go with AFR 185's but anything is better than the stock ones

Its stock displacement. I don't know much about heads or any of that so any info on that would help. I plan on changing the cam when I change the heads is there anything I should consider?

Depends on what kind of power band you're looking for. Do you want low end for stoplight to stoplight shenanigans or do you want it to carry from 3k rpm all the way to 6700?

I'm looking for something inbetween. This is my first muscle car so I don't know what to do for compression or what ratios mean. I'm hoping to have around 500 rwhp. When I'm done
