RE: Post your combinations and/or hp.
Hey 351 fox stang.
Thats a nice combo it sounds like. My question is regarding the cam choice in lift compared to the flow of the heads at 315cfm at .700"
If you would try this cam in the desktop dyno would ya. 232/240 @ .050" with a 108 LSA and .545"/.560".
Tell me what you get.
Thanks
Rye

I agree that the cam i have now seems pretty small compared to the rest of the engine. I bought it a while ago and don't want to spend more money on a cam right now. Ive still got to rebuild most of my car and buy a transmission, so ill wait until i get some miles on the motor and if i'm not happy with it a cam swap is easy enough.

That sounds like a beast! I cant wait to get my shortblock. I have to finish the necessary first (put my interior back together, take out my old motor, front suspension, clean up the bay, etc.)

RE: Post your combinations and/or hp.
Hey I'm new to this forum and these engines. I've got a '79 rx-7 with a 351w and an AOD tranny. I'm trying to think of a nice setup for a drag car, but still be drivable on the roads. I was thinking about stroking it but like I said I'm new to this whole thing and there's alot of options out there. I've been told to stoke it as far as possible to the 427w but I'm not even sure what's all involved with this. I'd like to hear some of ya'lls opinions as to which setups to go with....head, cams, carb, nitrous, ect...

RE: Post your combinations and/or hp.
Its been to the track a few times for tuning. Last trip I twisted an axle tube and haven't been back since. It runs low 10's on a hot day. The car is pretty heavy also. Its still factory EFI. I just replaced the stock electronics with FAST DFI. I had a 408 in it with an X-trim for awhile. During this time it was in a few magazines. I returned it to stock appearing so I could drive it on the street.

It sounds like you've taken your car extremely far in your goal for performance.
