Default First Mod

Hey everyone im new to modding new to forums and somewhat new to mustangs. i was wondering what people would suggest for my first mod. I have a redfire metallic v6 i have always wanted to do racing stripes and since reading the posts on this site reeaally want to get a dual exhaust but other than that, am curious about how to spend about 300 dollars on uping HP or acceleration as simply as possibly (hoping to avoid retune) any advice would be most welcome. very excited to be part of this forum. drive safe with style all.
Tom

a good cai without a tune can get you about 14 hp, with one probably close to 25

i know you want dual exhaust but i might have to turn you on to the mrt aeroturbine axelback
it is a muffler replacement for about 225 $
im telling you man this think is loud and nice sounding
check out some of the clips in the exhaust sound clip thread
if your interested in buying this go to mrtdirect.com
i have herd that gains are about 17 hp and i have never herd a bad word about it
i love mine and everyone who has one loves it

I'm a newbie also and was considing mods along the same line as these. Any thoughts on the MMR high-flow intake, they say V6 gains of up to 13hp with out having to retune or voiding the warranty. My main concern is I have read that the increased flow can make the engine run to lean and burn up the plugs. I would think since this is suppose to work with the factory tune that would not be an issue but would like some expirenced advice. This is running long but also I was considering the Ford Racing axle-back exhaust. I would like a little deeper sound (I know you can't get V8 deep) but not overly loud, I have alot of older nieghbors.

I recommend a replacement performance muffler. Why? It's not as expensive as a cai/tune and you get definite results in sound and feel. My car sounds ferocious with the new muffler, and I'm revvin' it all the time-- it sounds the way a Mustang should, and people know I'm coming!
