Noises from stick shift.

when i am in neutral and stopped and push the clutch in, i hear a noise, probably the click/snap u say u hear, i believe its normal, when in low gear what are your rpms...if its under like 1100 the car it may be rough cuz engine is close to stalling, but a grinding noise? maybe the car isn't fully in gear

I have had similar issues with getting it into first from a start. What I found that helps is to push the clutch in with the stick in nuetral position, then push the stick into first gear.

I found that if I pushed the stick over to get it ready to push into 1st, then hit the clutch, it sticks. I don't get it, but it always seems to help.
