LOLOL -- The same EXACT thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. I hand tightened it and figured it was on reall good. Problem was I should have taken off my vinyl gloves , maybe that was given me a fake read on how tight it was. But I was in the same boat! Luckily I had gotten 6 bottles of Royal Purple, instead of 5 and only lost less than a quart of oil.

When I got back under the car and retightened it with my pair of leather work gloves - damn it turned about 5 more times!!! I felt like such an a-hole - LOL Definitly recommend being sure that thing is on tight!

Yeah, When I got my stang my wife DEMANDED the 1 yr oil change package for $100, to make her happy I got it, and trust me, each time I go to get my oil changed I cross my fingers on BOTH hands, that they dont scratch my paint, strip my drain plug, or filter threads. I also pray they dont over or under fill it. I told my wife " I hate that Dealer oil change BS.... I will just do it myself" she says "Oh HELLL no, we paid $100 for that deal, and Ill be DAMNED if I throw away $100, you WILL use the dealer service" So no synthetic oil or K&N oil filters for me.... not for a while...lol
I HATE other people man handling my car!!!
You'll just have to learn how to lie to your wife like the rest of us. Tell her you got a refund on the package...

Doh, I looked at the old filter and indeed, the old gasket was still on the car. I'm so old I forgot to check-or maybe it was the beer...............
