Default Cheapest way to make v6 faster.

Hey guys, I have a 2006 4.0 mustang. It is stock right now performance wise, and I am looking for the cheapest way to make it faster. I am already thinking about CAI and Programer. Is this the cheapest way and what CAI and Programer does everyone recommend.

most bang for your buck is always going to be nitrous. But if your looking for something cheap that is always used and doesnt require re-fill go for CAI / Tune / Exhaust

No matter who you talk to, They will always say that the CAI will be the best. Thing to do first.

CAI is the cheapest and easiest to install. Tuners are a little bit more expensive but offers more. Exhausts are also good.

My first mod. was a GT takeoff muffler. By merely replacing the stock muffler w/ a better flowing one such as the GTs mufflers or flowmaster etc. you will get 10RWHP. GT takeoff mufflers are cheap, i bought two (right and left side for duals) for $80 and they sound great! You can swap the muffler yourself in the driveway in about 30 min. Check out the exhaust sound clips sticky. The cheapest most effective mod. in my opinion is the GT muffler. 10RWHP for $80 (maybe less if you only want to replace the stock one and not go duals as I did), can't beat that!

10RWHP with axle backs? Need a dyno to believe that. [&:]

lol there is no cheap way man!! lol But yea always the basics first. CAI,Tuner, exhaust, lower control arms, upper control arm, gears, track lock and then if you wanted a major power adder in the future like Nitrous, supercharger, or turbo you'll be somewhat ready. But your best bet would be a CAI and tuner combo. Especially if your cars an auto, it will help on the shifting

ya, get your car put on a dyno, a FULL exhaust will net about 5-7 rwhp,

get a set of 4.10s with a detroit true trac, a CAI and tune, a good exhaust, and maybe a 75 shot or a procharger, but they are expensive

no...its 10RWHP. I know that scrming for one has done many dynos and by replacing his axlebck he netted 10RWHP.

Not only that but a FULL exhaust which by that I believe you mean duals does not give our cars any MORE gain then replacing the axleback...in fact you might lose a little torque.
