Cheapest way to make v6 faster.

RE: Cheapest way to make v6 faster.
the gains scrming did to come up with 10 total rwhp gain were done on different days. Even back to back pulls on a dynojet vary, nevermind ones done on differetnt days.

for little gains you can go to a better air filter, synthetic oil in the engine , transmission and axle. pump up the front tires to max psi. see what it takes to get the thermostat on the radiator to open 20 degrees cooler. iridium spark plugs ( probly .15 of a horse power ) remove the interior, never fill the tank past 1/2 full, and lose weight if ure fat. Those are the cheapest ways, not the best ways

RE: Cheapest way to make v6 faster.
Does any one know what the best Cold Air Intake is? I am thinking about the CAL. Any suggestions.

Not only that but a FULL exhaust which by that I believe you mean duals does not give our cars any MORE gain then replacing the axleback...in fact you might lose a little torque.
ya, get your car put on a dyno, a FULL exhaust will net about 5-7 rwhp,
for a CAI i would say an MAC from autobadges.com if you dont go with one of the CAI/tuner packages

10RWHP with axle backs? Need a dyno to believe that. [&:]

My first mod. was a GT takeoff muffler. By merely replacing the stock muffler w/ a better flowing one such as the GTs mufflers or flowmaster etc. you will get 10RWHP. GT takeoff mufflers are cheap, i bought two (right and left side for duals) for $80 and they sound great! You can swap the muffler yourself in the driveway in about 30 min. Check out the exhaust sound clips sticky. The cheapest most effective mod. in my opinion is the GT muffler. 10RWHP for $80 (maybe less if you only want to replace the stock one and not go duals as I did), can't beat that!

My Magnaflow was around the same since it's basically the same kind of muffler.. The MRT Aero-Turbine show a substainal gain over that! LOL!
Here's the MRT vs Magnaflow:

As far as my different days... While I agree back to back would be better and even that's not perfect... but
1) SAE Correction was used. In theory this should make things fairly even when it comes to things like temps, barometers, etc.
2) We didn't simply do one pull or simply grab the highest or the ones with the biggest difference. It's not like we made one pull... We compared pulls that were representive of the averages. We could have taken the lowest pulls of the Magaflow setup and compared it to the highest MRT pull... instead we did are best to do as fair a comparison as we could...
3) One thing that is undeniable is that the Aero-Turbine really does make a difference once you start getting above 5000+ RPMs! Regardless of how much actual HP difference there is, it is noticable! I felt it as soon as I got out of the parking lot! Which is why I paid to have it dyno'd! Just to make sure my butt-dyno was working correctly! LOL!
