Default Regular Maintenance

2005 with 22,000 miles. Anything really needed to be done at this point such as fuel or air filter change or coolant changed?
How many miles should you get on front brakes of a new mustang before the first pad replacement? Most of the miles are local not highway miles.

Change the gas filter now!Install new air filter every 12,000 miles(or sooner if getsdirty fast)or 1 year.Coolant is good for a few years I think(check owners manual).Take off one of the front wheelsand look at the pads, if a lot ofmeat left on pads your OK,if down to about 1/8 inch I would change them.Good pads run $40. to $150.Buy NAME brand pads.Very easy job, just make sure to take glaze off both sidesof rotors.Rough emery paper works fine or if worn roughhave the rotorsturned.Follow break-in instructions with pads.

Is fuel filter lifean issue on these beasties? I just rolled over 30k and was thinking of doing it, but apparently the plastic cover is a nightmare to get back on. Any feedback?

Cheap insurance! Filter runs about $20. from Ford.We use to change them every 12000 miles and even if cover is a bastard still only a 15-20 min. job. Another incentive is my dealer wanted $115. to change it!

Gotta do the fuel filter asap. Even Ford wants em changed every 15K and they always list the outside of the range for maint. times.
