Default Short-Throw shifter

Has anyone installed or used a short throw shifter on the v6 stang? im thinking about buying one due to the stiff and clumsy shifting on the stock clutch. Have any advice? and how much is the install?

I looked into it and found a nice Hurst at JC Whitney. They contract with Pep Boys for installation if you want that option. The install charge was like $89.00 and shifter was around $200.00 or so. I would prefer to pay a little more to have someone I know and trust do the install.

Can you use "trust do the install" and Pep Boys in the same sentence. Also, the Hurst shifter can be had for less than $180 most places.
A "K " member support and torque limiters will also help with shifting.

Here's a link to the how to from the Ford Muscle website.. not a difficult install.

Not without being laughed at.

Nice! Just got my V6 convertiblefour days ago, interested in doing the same thing. And so it begins..............$$$$$$. Fun though.

Would definitely do the work myself looks simple enough.
Keep us posted on what you do.

just to clarify my statement - I meant that I didn't want to entrust Pep Boys with my pony and would prefer to use my normal service provider to do the work.
