Well I just changed my fuel filter took 15 mins. Just remove the fuse 21, then try to start the car for like 5 secs. It shouldn't start. Then take out 3 bolts and 1 push pin on the black plastic cover. Then I put a trash bag around the old fuel filter since I knew it would spill fuel out. It did spill about 4-6 ounces. Take the 10mm bolt off the plastic piece holding the filter in to make it easier to remove. push the two green pieces in on the fuel line connector. and pull it away from the filter. Then slide the filter towards the engine side to get out of the plastic holder. Then replace with new filter reconnect lines, put fuse back in, then crank ignition like 4 times don't start...then start when the fuel line doesn't make the funny noise any more. check for leaks then reconnect the cover. Very easy to do. Didn't even have to jack the car up or disconnect the neg. battery. But ya wear gloves, I forgot to and now my hands smell like gas. Owell.

Awesome walkthrough; the picture at the end really made it clear what to do with the shield. Did it flat on the street, and in retrospect, it's time to get a floor jack and stands...The green clips were a bit tricky (Tank-side was tougher than engine-side), but eventually popped them. Swapped, ran it for a few minutes to assure no leaks, re-bolted the shield, and off for a test drive; no issues.

Keep making this forum great, guys!

Where can a replacement clip or hose end be obtained, and how would you put it on to withstand the pressure? (one of mine got f'd up during filter replacement)

I ordered the same borla exhaust too, and love the way it sounds it also looks very nice. I have people asking me all the time what kind of exhaust it is because it sounds so good. I got mine from borla parts here, borla 11761 and was pleased with the price a delivery time. You should also check craigslist sometimes you can find a used set.

tx_zstang they make replacement ends for most applications. That have about 12" of line along with the end the goes on the fuel filter. It comes with a hose barb that you use to join the old and new together. Heat the line up with some boiling water to expand it some and shove in the hose barb. I don't remember if clamps are required but it is extra peace of mind. I found them at Car Quest a few years ago when I broke one on my Taurus.

Thanks for the write-up. I changed mine yesterday at 31k. Maybe it will help improve my 16mpg average.

Thanks for the write-up. Changed mine today after 32k miles on this filter. Dealer did the first change. The gas from the filter was dirty. I'm changing every 20k from now on. Easy job, took 20 mins. Followed the walk-through by luckdawg003 in Post #51.
