Default 7.5 to 8.8 swap

Can anyone tell me if they have done the 8.8 swap and how difficult it is. I know I read a pretty detailed account on how to do it but I can't find it anywhere. I either read it ina mustang magazine or online. If anyone has this information I would appreciate any help in the matter thanks

I just ordered a 3.73 8.8 take-off myself. Plan on using the 40c instructions. However, I have a buddy with a lift so may not need to use my driveway. As far as warranty ... Even if Ford does the install I don't see how the warranty would remain in effect ... at least not on the rear. Besides ... by the time you buy the Take-Off for $800 + shipping ... and pay the dealer $300-$400 to install it ... wouldn't it make more sense to just do T-Lok& Gears in your 7.5? The main reason I bought the 8.8 isit was only slightly more than upgrading the 7.5 internals ... and I can do the install myself. Becomes a no brainer at that point.

I just did the swap a few weeks ago and this was easier than I thought it was going to be. It took a total of 2 1/2 hours from start to finish using jack stands and a creeper. The only thing that took some time was getting the brake caliper back on the rotor, but a trip to the auto parts store to get a caliper compression tool took care of that. Since the new rear is in the car is so much more fun to drive with the 3.73's, now I cant wait to get it supercharged.

They might do it, if they do plan on paying in the neighborhood of $400 in labor at a minimum. The quote I got from the local speed shop was $70 hr at 6 hours of labor.
