Just to give u a little background. 99-04 GT vortech non-ic charger u'll run with him, or a bunch of bolt-ons(93 B A M Atune,cai, dual exhaust, and 4.10 gears/t-lok combo should get u to run with him-$2.5k), 94-98 probably just a cai/93 tune-maybe less, or dual exhaust/cai-$700-$1k. That should help u!

also 05-07 GT, you'll need atleast a vortech non IC on 8.6 psi, dual exhaust, t-lok 3.73 gears (for off the line). N/A you'll need a race tune, dual exhaust, headers, UD pulley system, 3.73 gears, t-lok.

also
I hear a shaker system could give you as much as 15 rwhp. This doesnt show up on a dyno because you need to force the air into the engine.

if it is a new GT, you need f/i. if it is 99-04, you will need basically every mod that does not include f/i. if it is an older one, you can just do intake, tune and gears

it also depends on what your friends GT is running, if he has mods you pretty much need a supercharger with anaftercooler, or turbocharger.

A shaker or ram air like WesternMotorSports w/heat guardunder a steeda tune will show 15rwhp on the dyno I'm pretty sure since non-tuner needed cai's have shown 8rwhp on the dyno. And a shaker or ram air system, in the right conditions(40-60 degrees)will drive like it has gains of over 40crank hp. Especially in high rpm's and driving over 40mph u will definitly feel a difference. It's been provenon a GT.A stock gt 50-100mph was 1.3 sec slower than a gt w/the WMS system(which in hpterms would equal over 60hp).A ram air system is going to be my next mod once I get my exhaust installed and more money!Good Luck on whatever u do!

Sorry, didn't see u wanted brands:
Tuner-SCT is preferred by most, but get tunes from B A M A or Brenspeed on it when u buy it(buy it from them w/preloaded tunes they make)
Ram Air-Shaker system, or cheaper WMS system
headers-not sure where u live but longtubes r illegal in most states so JBA shorty's
Exhaust-single will get u around 10hp, duals probably 15ish. Some popular brands r JBA,MRT, or Flowmaster. Pick one based on the sound u like(top of performance section here, there is a thread w/sound clips)
Gears-FRRP or Motive($40-$50 cheaper)
supercharger-Vortech-intercooled or non(best bang for buck)
Turbo-STS or powerhouse
Good Luck!
t-lok-any cheap one that's brand name

The shaker systems are much less effective than the WMS systems. If you want performance, dont get one. A dual exhaust when you are N/A will not give any gains, if you are looking for performance, stay with a single. They have shown like 10rwhp...hard to believe is possible for a single exhaust, but the dyno's dont lie.

Has anyone dyno'd duals? There's not a little gain with that farely bigdecrease in backpressure? That's a little weird if there isn't then. It may not be logical, but dyno's don't lie!
