Default New Stang. Need help

Ok. I just got a 2005 mustang. And yes it is a V6. I have already heard it from my buddies. But it is what I got. I would like to do some performance upgrades. I am not too mechanically inclined, but I would like some suggestions on simple things that can be done to start off with or evensome things I can add down the road. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Cold air intake and a tune. You'll thank me later.
After that, or maybe even at the same time, switch the gears, most people go with 3.73's or 4.10's.

This may sound dumb, but what do you mean by a tune?

Intake, muffler, tlok, gears, and tune. That will shut most cars up.

Get FRPP gears and tlok from www.v6mustangstuff.com and get the intake, muffler and tune from VMP Tuning or Bamma Chips. That will get you about 250hp off the crank, and the gears and tlok will let you put it to the ground very nicely.

+1 on chrisc's stuff, if u want more look into aluminum driveshafts, underdrive pulley's, headers, and maybe a little weight reduction.

Thanks for the suggestions. What brands would you reccomend for these upgrades? Are there any that stand out above the rest or are theyall fairly closein quality?

CAI/tuner-get from B A M A or brenspeed for their best custom tunes(10hp at least over canned tune), whatever cai that needs a tune that comes with it will be good-$625. Hi-flow mufflers r pretty much all the same, so pick one that has a sound ulike, that will costaround $200-install $50 if u can't do it.The next best bangfor buck after that will be gears and a t-lok, check rpmoutlet.com, americanmuscle.com, andv6mustangstuff.com forthat stuff. Gears, I'dget 4.10's if u like a lot of low-end/take-off power and not worried about extra power at 75-100mph+. That should put u at 240hp, but the gears will make it feel like it has 260hp. If u need more UDP's I'm thinking of getting after that, but don't no where u can get them yet, and u will need a belt-probably $250-good onesworth8-10rwhp. Shorty Headers will make ur exhaust sound a lot louder and deeperfor $400 shipped, i think install is $100-$200 and their worth usually 8-10rwhp-v6mustangstuff.com. Aluminum Driveshafts from shaftmasterscosts $400 and install is $50-$100-worth 10rwhp. That's a lot, if u need more ask us. With that u'll have a lot of power. BTW, the cai, muffler, udp, and driveshaft are each supposed to increase mpg a little. Good Luck!
