4.10 question

RE: 4.10 question
The gearing in the stock V6 is 3.31's. 4.10's are slightly out of the powerband range of our cars. They are great for F/I applications in the Mustang but no so much for N/A 4.0's and some swear by them with our cars.

Ask those who own the 4.0 or the S197 first and then go with non Musang owners IMO... this guy recommends used gears and rear ends....lol your taking your warrenty/cars lifein your hands with that.

RE: 4.10 question
I think this topic is so thrown off by everyone's opinion when few people have even driven or rode in cars with both. I really don't think you ca go wrong with either choice though, especially if you are staying N/A, because most people are happy with whatever gears they have, if they are 3.73's or 4.10's. If you plan on going F/I though, I suggest you look into which gears people are choosing for those applications, or talk with someone who has a setup similar to what you want to run.

RE: 4.10 question
I've got 410's on a manual with a T-lock. I had them without FI and with the X-Charger; they're great both ways. You will run about 500 rpm higher in top gear at any given cruising speed, and you will get through the gears a lot faster than with stock gears, so you're in 4th most of the time on the street. I don't have a problem with them and wouldn't go back.
