Default BBK

Does the BBK cold air kit require a tune? I've heard it does and it does not would like to verify.

doesnt require a tune, without one ur lookin at the 15hp range with a tune its supposeta be one of the best out there, which is a big plus for this intake. Its great for the us who cant afford a tune at the moment, but cant wait for an intake.By the intake now and the tune later haha. Most intakes that dont need a tune do not produce as good airflow as those that do. BBK seems to be the exception from what i here. Great without a tune incredible with a tune. I've heard of 30 plus hp gains with a tune.

I don't understang how a CAI that doesn't need a tune will flow enough when you get a tune to give you 30HP BTW the BBK is just like the Steeda set up right? It may not need a tune but how do you swing it being one of the best with a tune? And is it actually 15HP or what the add says?

Because ive seen dyno sheets of 30 hp gains with a tune. Now think about it, how many other intakes are out there that can do that, not too many. With the bbk u can run it w/o a tune. So if u have an empty pocket u can hold off on the tune. It really just gives a better option to certain buyers. The add says 18-20, so ya gotta figure in reality 10-15 without a tune.

I;ve seen dyno sheets with a tune reaching 30 hp increase to the wheels. Adds clain 15-20 w/o a tune, and 30 plus without. Being that they're add was correct on the hp gain with a tune, u gotta figure its accurate without a tune. In reality ud prolly fig between 10-15 hp w/o a tune. No tune doesnt do much.

It still doesn't explain how a CAI is bringing in enough to give you 15HP that doesn't require a tune! There is an air fuel mixture that goes into these equations that leans or riches out your car, if you bring in too much with out a tune it will lean it out, so to get you into the 15 HP range lots of air needs to be coming in, then adding a tune your gaining 30HP just seems to much, if this was the case everyone would be using the BBK kit, it isn't a seceret product so whats the deal here, smoke and mirrors?

It looks no different that the C&L and that needs a tune and with the above statements a stock GT comes with 300hp and about 270 to the wheels, so your saying by adding the BBK you go to 285RWHP with a CAI? and then to 300RWHP with a tune and CAI?, I've never seen that, ever!

the bbk intake does need a tune even though they explicitly say it doesnt on the site, everybody who puts them on their cars have lean troubles.

any CAI that doesnt need a tune will net you about 1 to 2 hp (or about a tenth of a mph/sec in the quarter) and are just not worth it,

id suggest getting a CAI/tuner from vmptuning.com and get the full 15-20 HP out of it rather then a shiny tube under the hood of your car

or if you dont want a tune, just stick a K&N in the stock box
