Gears and tlok are the way to go. That $400-$800 install price is bull****. I called over 15 shops around me, some performance shops, and they all quoted me in that B/S range.

I was so pissed i decided to install the gears and tlok myself. Granted it took awhile but in the end we got everything set up well and now i have tire shredding torque transfer to both my back wheels. The best part is i got my tlok and gears for the low low price of $120 shipped, $10 for gear oil, and a few bucks for a few other minor things to get this thing done.

I had pre broken in FRPP gears and there is a little whine @ 55 mph but its nothing like i would thought it would be. I can barely hear it when the car is dead silent let alone with the music on at low volumes.

I do however need LCAs badly now, the wheel hop is gettin to me at stop lights...

Check my blog, I'll have a mini write up in there soon if you're interested in going the self install route.

Just did motive 4:10s and Ford T-loc, no whine at all. You will need to getcontrol armseventually. I have real bad wheel hop issues now. Recommend you try it yourself, Its not that bad once you get into it + its cheaper and if you decide you want to change later on you'll have the EXP.
