Default Hurst STS

so i installed my shifter a couple weeks agoand its awesome but now im getting a rattle. its when i accelerate. i thought that i just didnt tighten the bolts well enough so i tightened them again but they werent loose. does any one else have this problem can anyone think of what it might be the rattle is driving me friggin nuts

Thin rubber washers between the chrome stick and base, loctitie and torque the bolts. Assuming of course, the rest of you installation is tight. (this was the fix posted posted by a Hurstrep on another board aboout a year ago)
Some have gone back to the stock bushings, claimed it was up and down movement in the socket and others damaged the old bushings when moving them to the new shifter. I would try the washers first, quick and simple.

I just installed my Hurst today and I had the same rattle. So I tried to locktite and thin rubber washers and it worked. Heres a pic after install. Thanks.

o ya that looks good. i love the look of the Hurst. its amazing how much of a difference it makes on the shift. it seems like it shifts a lot harder than the factory shifter.
