Default Help with Gears

i have been debating which brand of gears to get
i definatly want 3.73, but from who....i am not sure

ford oe 269.99
Yukon gears 229.99
Motive gears 179.99

i am also going to be buying a FRPP T-Lok
One more Question
Is there anyting else i need to buy to do have this installed by my local speed shop?
like a notched cross pin or a Rear End Master Installation Kit.

save yourself alot of hassle and just get the ford gears no matter the price...made for your car by your cars manufacture. I installed 4.10's on my truck (by myself) and no problems.. many say that the yukon whine, others will say they wont...however ford gears are a easy install that you can count on not whining. As far as the instalation kit, it doesnt really matter, yukon or ford. I used a yukon kit in my truck..

Good luck

+1 with getting the ford OEM gears. otherwise look into U.S. Gear Corp. They manufacture the Ford OEM gears as well as GM and Chrysler kinda like Motive manufactured the FRPP gears for whatever time period that was. The part number for the U.S Gear 3.73's is E4SZ4209A. Here's a site that sells them:

good luck.

My gears are Ford and I have no complaints. I also had my T-Lok and Torque Converter put on @ the same time as my gears. Tookmy automaticfrom the low 15's to my best times of 14.7 with a 60Ft time of 1.9. Go for it...you won't be disappoionted.

Doesn't matter which one you get, you WILL get whine if the installation is not done properly. I can vouch with the authentic Ford's.
