Default short tube headers

are the short tube header kits for the 05-08's V-6's worth the horsepower increase for the money. i have heard that the short tubes only add about 10 hp. is this true. also which company makes the best set.

2006 4.0
mmr intake
demon coil w/ 9mm power cables
magnaflow axleback
bbk 70mm throttle body

if 10hp is true plus the improved sound you get anyways, then the stainless steel shorties are worth it to me. ceramics are too pricey and unecessary for our cars IMO. 5-7hp has generally been the agreed upon amount of gain.

not really sure on the best set but JBA shorties are high quality and fit nicely.

i dont have headers...yet, but i've read some writeups by members who have installed them. its definitely doable if you are handy with basic hand tools and have patience. if the search is working now, look it up. i forgot the members name that did a whole write up on the install.

I didn't look in here so I don't know if this is for V6's or V8's but I think the process should be the same.

I was under the impression that headers give NO HP increase and if they do it would be Long Tube headers with some kind of F/I only then will you get a small amount of HP increase. Am I Wrong about this?

I may be wrong, so somebody please chime in if I am, but I think a small amount of HP is gained with the absence of the cats and mufflers. So basically, all you're looking at is a straight through system with long tubes.

you picked up 10hp? did you put it on the dyno? so the pypes headers have no fitment issues huh....hmmm. MACS have a reputation for not fitting correctly and i thought pypes were the same.
