Default How many miles is too many miles to start modding

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. I have a stock base 05 v6 and it has a few less than 40000 miles on it. I was wondering is it to late to start modifying the cars performance? And if it isn't when is it to late to supercharge or turbo this car. I also live in central New York (Syracuse) and is adding a power adder a good idea with the cold weather? Thanks Mark.

Welcome to the forum. It's never too late or early to start mods. I was bolting stuff on as soon as I drove my car home from the dealer. It's basically whatever your heart desires and your wallet can afford. As far as power adders, do what you want just be aware of the extra power in traction limited situations. Good luck!

I didn't know there was a cutoff for modding. People will buy a stock fox and mod it to death, why not you. Have fun and enjoy the insanity it creates in us.

Welcome, and just be aware....once you start modding, it never ends

40K is not too many for a S/C; I put mine on at 32K with no engine issues. Other mods started many miles earlier...and more will come later!

It's never too early. Hey, I bolted on my duals when my car had <5000 miles on it!

40,000 miles is not really that many. I say do what you want. Have fun!

Steeda sells the X charger and from what I've seen on videos, it's not that difficult to install yourself.

If you check out this link from this forum, there is talk of another X charger group buy in March.....at least they are working on it;

There's a great turbo shop in the NW corner of PA in a town called Girard (I believe that's the city). The name of the place is PowerHouse. Great outfit to deal with.
