How much are those Yukon gears costing you?

When I was looking, I think they cost more than the FRPPs....but I'll let rls answer what he's paying. FRPPs FTW!

Default 3.73 over 4.10s

I have been doing the same research the last several weeks. I decided to go with the 3.73 over the 4.10 as well. Apparently I will get less whine, less of a drop in MPGs, and less strain on my 7.5" rear end in the long-term.

I found a guy on ebay who sells used T-Loks with the 3.73 gears for the 7.5" rear end for about $150. I am debating buying one (all the other buyers of his parts have left positive feedback and seem to be pleased with his products), then buying the master install kit and having a local shop put it all together (anyone know a good one in the Los Angeles area?).

I decided to go this route before getting the CAI/Tune so that when I do get the CAI/Tune later, I will better be able to utilize the extra hp, instead of having to buy a bunch of rear right tires.

Don't expect the shop to offer you any kind of warranty if you have them install used parts - just something to consider.

uhhh the gear ratio doesnt determine the whine, the install does.

as for strain on the 7.5, ive blown up new stock diffs, i wouldnt dream of putting a used carrier in my rear, used gears, are ok as long as you check the teeth/pinion

you need the tune to correct the speedo, so do the cai tune first.
