Default Strange clutch sound...

I have an 05 v6 with a 5 speed, and have been noticing recently a strange squealing noise sometimes whenever I am starting out in first... It seems to do it more whenever it is colder outside, and when the clutch is under a little bit more strain, such as starting out on hills and what not. The car is basically stock except for an aftermarket muffler, and has about 24k miles on it...

I have a soft "squealing" sound every time I push the clutch but it's been doing it ever since I bought the car. Is this a recent occurrence?

It isn't recent, but it was definitely not doing it when the car was new... I also had a friend with a WRX that also had the same sort of issue, and he never figured out what it was...

Bleed the clutch.

Park her uphill, the steeper the better.
We are talking 45 degrees or better of a slope.
Engage the parking brake.
Engine off, depress the clutch and release it slowly
a few times. Presto, clutch bled and adjusted.

I think I know what you are talking about. I get a weird little whine or maybe a moan when I take off in first gear. Maybe like a clutch slip vibration high pitch moan. It is the worst when it is cold. When I say cold I mean michigan winter cold. When things warm up, weather or clutch, it seems to go away. It did not do it when it was newer. I thought that it was just that my clutch was wearing out. By the way, how long are you guys getting your clutch to last. I know it depends on the way you drive but, roughly, how many miles are you getting from your clutch. By the way, where in the heck do you live that you can find a 45+ degree hill?????

No, there isn't...

The Ford Service Manual procedure for bleeding the clutch slave cylinder on the 05+ Mustang involves drawing a vacuum using a special cap or a rubber plug on the brake fluid reservoir.
